D.C. Beemon shoots 20 weddings a year on average, during the summer season and spends the rest of the year on a variety of projects , outputting video in DVD and web formats, from standard definition to Blue Ray, low rez, high rez, whatever the destination calls for. A common package will be to shoot in high definition and then give the option of standard DVD or Blue Ray production or one of each.
Dave has always made a point of using only professional cameras, mics, and lighting equipment and spends the required number of long hours in the editing room because that is the only way to work. A project is only finished when it is finished and there are no short cuts except for the use of high speed computers and efficient CODECS. Outside of the emotional content, a wedding is like any other event and requires a game plan and a script, which is discussed with the participating bride and groom, so that scene selection and lighting possiblities are understood before the event happens. Every wedding is unique and requires an open approach, not a formulistic one. The final sound track and other elements of the post production are agreed upon.
Dave was trained in Computer Graphics at the Rhode Island School of Design and has a journalism degree from the University of Michigan. He has worked as both a journalist and a video artist and is a rock and jazz musician and would be happy to work out sound track possibilities with you, usually combining live audio recording with dubbed in music.
A typical wedding package, which includes usually about 8 hours of coverage, runs about $1,200. But D.C. Beemon will tailor a package to your needs. Un-edited packages run less. Two day packages run more. A typical package is an 8 hour shoot with full edit and 2 DVDs.
