Dave
Beemon is a digital film maker and director of d.c.beemon design,
a graphic design studio. He is an author, painter, jazz drummer and rock
guitarist.
He studied art and
journalism at the University of Michigan, Computer Graphics Production
at the Rhode Island School of Design and recieved an MA in Creative Writing
at Boston University under the guidance of Leslie Epstein. He has taught
graphic design and Quark at the Clark University Computer Career Institute.
He has been published in numerous magazines and fiction journals. He has
worked for a variety of magazines and corporations in the Boston area.
Dave studied the drum kit with Gary Chaffee in the early 90's, and started several jazz bands, after first joining a punk band, the Bloody Young Idiots, with John Callahan. His jazz has reflected the influence of the Bloody Young Idiots, and other punk and jazz artists such as Iggy Pop and Ornette Coleman. He is currently writing songs in accoustic mode and exploring the joys of analog/digital conversion.
